About FA99 Poker
Poker is more than a game of luck. It's a contest of wit, strategy, and patience — which is why millions of players around the world keep coming back to it, including a large and loyal base of Malaysian players who have long made poker their entertainment of choice. FA99 understands this completely, which is why we built a poker platform that genuinely respects serious players.
At FA99, you can find a Texas Hold'em table at any time — whether you're squeezing in a session over lunch at the office or playing deep into the night after work. FA99 tables are always active and filled with real players, not bots. Our anti-collusion and anti-bot systems ensure every round is a genuine test of skill.
For new players who are still getting familiar with poker, FA99 offers free play-money tables so you can practise with zero risk. Take as long as you need, get a feel for the game, and when you're ready, move to real-money tables with full confidence. This is an approach you'll rarely find on other platforms.
FA99 offers a wide range of poker variants to suit every type of player. Here are the main options available for you to enjoy right now:
Texas Hold'em is the most popular variant and the flagship offering at FA99. Each player receives two hole cards and shares five community cards. The best five-card combination from seven cards determines the winner. Its straightforward rules paired with virtually limitless strategic depth make Texas Hold'em a favourite at every level — from beginners to seasoned professionals.
Omaha Hi deals each player four hole cards instead of two as in Hold'em, but you must use exactly two hole cards and three community cards to form your hand. This creates a more open game with stronger hand combinations on average — ideal for players who enjoy more action and bigger pots.
Short Deck Hold'em (also known as 6+ Hold'em) uses a stripped deck with all 2s through 5s removed. Strong hands come up more frequently, and hand rankings require adjustment compared to standard Hold'em. It's growing in popularity among players looking for something different.
Tournament Poker (MTT & SNG) is a format where you buy in for a fixed amount and receive an equal number of chips. Play continues until one player collects all the chips. FA99 offers Multi-Table Tournaments (MTT) with prize pools accumulated from all participants' entry fees, as well as Sit & Go (SNG) tournaments that start automatically once the required number of players has joined.
Poker is a game of incomplete information — you can't see your opponents' cards, but you can draw conclusions from how they bet, react, and make decisions. Here are some core principles consistently applied by FA99 players who win:
Position is everything. Playing from late position (dealer button, cutoff, hijack) gives you a significant edge because you get to see your opponents act before making your own decision. Smart FA99 players play more hands from late position and tighten up from early position.
Don't play too many hands. New players are often tempted to play nearly every hand — and that's a costly mistake. Staying disciplined with your starting hand selection, focusing on strong pairs, suited connectors, and connected cards, is the foundation of solid poker strategy.
Learn to read board texture. The ability to read how community cards affect your opponents' likely holdings is a critical skill. FA99 provides a practice area where you can work on reading the board without the pressure of time or real money.
Manage your bankroll wisely. A widely recommended rule of thumb is to never put more than 5% of your total bankroll on a single table. FA99 lets you set deposit limits and daily loss limits directly through your account settings — a feature we strongly encourage all players to use.
Many Malaysian poker players who previously played on international platforms have made the switch to FA99 — and the primary reason is transaction convenience. When you need to deposit at midnight before a big tournament, you don't have to worry about time restrictions or complicated payment methods. FA99 accepts Touch 'n Go eWallet, GrabPay, Boost, ShopeePay, DuitNow and FPX (Maybank2u, CIMB Clicks) — all the payment methods Malaysians use every day.
Beyond convenient payments, FA99 also offers a Malay-language interface that's genuinely easy to understand — not a clunky auto-translation, but copy written by Malaysians for Malaysians. From tournament scoreboards to table settings, everything is presented clearly and intuitively.
FA99 also comes with a built-in stats tracking feature that records your own gameplay. You can review your win rate, hands per hour, and betting history to help you analyse and improve your game over time. It's an invaluable tool for players looking to grow from casual to more serious competitors.
FA99 customer support is also on hand to help if any issues arise during your poker session. Whether it's a technical problem, a question about tournament rules, or account-related assistance — our Malay-speaking team is available via live chat 24/7 and typically responds in under two minutes.

Real experiences from players actively at the FA99 poker tables.
"I've been playing online poker for nearly 3 years and have tried plenty of platforms. FA99 is one of the most honest I've come across — the anti-bot system genuinely works, and it's rare to run into suspicious players who feel like programs. The mid-stakes tables are always full too, so you never have to wait long to get a game going."
"I'm a casual player who plays poker for fun, not to chase big money. FA99 suits me perfectly because there are micro tables with a RM20 buy-in, so there's no real pressure. What I appreciate most is how quickly customer support responds. Once I had a technical issue during a tournament, and it was resolved within 3 minutes."
"FA99's Monthly Grand Prix is genuinely great. Last month I finished in the top 10 and won close to RM8,000 — more than paid back my buy-ins many times over. The session stats FA99 provides afterwards are really useful too; you can clearly see where your game needs work. Hoping they add more weekly tournaments going forward."
